The South Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) is implementing a\nhumane and equitable police programme. South Sumatra Police Chief\nInspector General Sandi Nugroho has provided new residential assistance\nto two elderly farmers in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency.<\/p>\n
According to information received, the handover took place on Monday\n(20\/4\/2026) in Margodadi Village, Semendawai Suku III Subdistrict,\nrepresented directly by East OKU Police Chief AKBP Adik Listiyono. The\ntwo beneficiaries are Suparni (62), a farmer from Margodadi Village, and\nJamhir (75), a farmer from Melati Agung Village, East Semendawai\nSubdistrict.<\/p>\n
Jamhir is known to have permanent blindness due to pesticide\nexposure. Both have lived in limited conditions without decent\nhousing.<\/p>\n
The event proceeded solemnly, attended by Forkopimcam\nrepresentatives, East OKU Police Resort officials, village apparatus,\nand local residents. The activities included an opening, prayer,\nspeeches, social assistance handover, and a symbolic ribbon-cutting\nceremony for Suparni\u2019s new home. The group then proceeded to inspect\nJamhir\u2019s house to ensure it was decent and ready for occupancy.<\/p>\n
In addition to housing aid, the East OKU Police Resort distributed\nsocial assistance packages to residents from several villages as a form\nof ongoing care for the surrounding community.<\/p>\n
This assistance programme is an implementation of the South Sumatra\nPolice Chief\u2019s policy in presenting a police force that not only focuses\non law enforcement but is also actively involved in community social\nactivities. This aligns with the Polri Presisi programme launched by\nNational Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, which positions\ncommunity welfare as part of the institution\u2019s success.<\/p>\n
This housing aid is expected to have a significant impact on the\nrecipients\u2019 lives. For Jamhir, who has physical limitations, a decent\nhome becomes a safe and dignified space. For Suparni, this aid\nsymbolises the presence of the state that does not forget the small\npeople.<\/p>\n
East OKU Police Chief AKBP Adik Listiyono stated that this activity\nis a real manifestation of the Polri\u2019s philosophy of service to the\ncommunity.<\/p>\n
