        "content": "<p>South Lampung (ANTARA) - The South Lampung Regency Government is\ndistributing clean water assistance to residents affected by the\ndry-season drought in a number of areas, as part of efforts to ensure\nthat the community\u2019s basic needs remain met.<\/p>\n<p>The assistance is being distributed through the South Lampung Fire\nand Rescue Service (Damkarmat), which has deployed water tanker trucks\nto villages struggling to obtain clean water supplies.<\/p>\n<p>Rully Fikriansyah, Head of the Fire Division at South Lampung\nDamkarmat, speaking in Kalianda on Saturday, said the clean water\ndistribution was being carried out as an emergency response measure to\nmeet the basic needs of communities affected by dwindling water\nsupplies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday we distributed clean water at two locations, namely Merak\nBelantung Village and Gunung Village in Kalianda District, with a total\nof 8,000 litres of clean water,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the distribution is based on reports from village\ngovernments and the results of field monitoring of areas experiencing a\nwater crisis.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the clean water distribution would be carried out\nin stages, adjusted to the community\u2019s needs and the availability of\ntanker trucks, so that all affected areas can be served.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to distributing clean water, his office is continuing to\ncoordinate with sub-district and village governments as well as relevant\nagencies to monitor drought conditions and anticipate the spread of its\nimpact.<\/p>\n<p>He therefore urged the public to use water wisely and conserve\nsupplies while the dry season lasts. Residents were also asked to\npromptly report to village officials or Damkarmat if they have\ndifficulty obtaining clean water so that assistance can be delivered\nimmediately.<\/p>",
