South Korean's guard murdered<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): An employee of a South Korean businessman was
\nstabbed to death yesterday by four unidentified men in the Tanah
\nAbang district, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira
\nsaid Hamid Suyanto, 24, was stabbed in his face, body and legs.<\/p>\n
Hamid had worked as a security guard for several months at the
\nexport-import company of his employer, Lee Koo Sik, 43.<\/p>\n
During the past month, on Lee's request, Hamid had slept in
\nLee's minivan parked outside the house, since a thief stole the
\ncar's dashboard.<\/p>\n
He said police found two swords and one machete next to
\nHamid's body at the site on Jl. Bendungan Jatiluhur.<\/p>\n
The killers escaped in their own minivan, Abubakar said.<\/p>\n
Quoting Lee and neighbors, Abubakar said that early yesterday
\nmorning Hamid had apparently woken up when he heard a suspicious
\nsound. He got out of the car and was suddenly attacked by the
\nmen, Abubakar added.<\/p>\n
The suspects had escaped by the time Lee and his neighbors
\narrived on the scene after hearing Hamid scream.<\/p>\n
"The men, who probably wanted to burgle Lee's house, were
\nsurprised when they met Hamid," Abubakar said, adding that Hamid
\nhad apparently tried to fight his assailants. Hamid was found
\nlying in a nearby gutter.<\/p>\n
Hamid died on the way to the Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital. The
\nnearby Navy hospital had refused to admit Hamid as his injuries
\nwere considered too serious.<\/p>\n
Hamid, survived by a pregnant wife and two sons, will be
\nburied in his hometown of Magelang, Central Java. (jun)<\/p>",
