        "content": "<p>The Batang Industrial Special Economic Zone (KEK Industropolis) has\nonce again demonstrated its appeal to global investors. This time,\nforeign direct investment (FDI) worth Rp429 billion from South Korea has\nofficially entered through PT Simone Batang Indonesia, a manufacturing\ncompany focused on leather products targeting the export market.<\/p>\n<p>The investment agreement was marked by the signing of the Industrial\nLand Utilisation Agreement (PPTI) held at the Ballroom of the KEK\nIndustropolis Batang Management Office on Wednesday (6\/5). The signing\nwas conducted by Indri Septa Respati, Director of Marketing &amp;\nDevelopment of KEK Industropolis Batang, and Kim Jung Shik, President\nDirector of PT Simone Batang Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>With this investment, PT Simone Batang Indonesia will develop\nproduction facilities on a land area of 8.28 hectares. Not only\nstrengthening the export industry sector, this project is also projected\nto create around 6,000 new jobs for the community.<\/p>\n<p>The entry of this investment provides a fresh wind for the national\nmanufacturing industry, especially amid Indonesia\u2019s efforts to attract\nglobal industry relocations and strengthen its position in the world\nsupply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Indri Septa Respati stated that the presence of PT Simone is concrete\nevidence of increasing foreign investor confidence in Indonesia,\nparticularly in KEK Industropolis Batang.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis shows that Batang is increasingly being considered as a global\nproduction base. Many international companies now see this zone as a\nstrategic point for expansion and exports,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>PT Simone itself is not a newcomer in the global industry.\nEstablished in 1987, the company has production networks in various\ncountries such as Vietnam and Cambodia. Globally, Simone controls around\n10 percent of the world market share and 30 percent of the US market,\nwith retail value exceeding USD 7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>President Director of PT Simone Batang Indonesia, Kim Jung Shik,\nassessed that Indonesia has great potential as a future production\ncentre in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see a strong combination here\u2014government policy support,\nindustrial zone readiness, and large workforce potential. This is the\nmain reason we chose Batang,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The factory construction is planned to start in the next two months.\nThe project is targeted to be completed in July 2026 and to begin\noperations gradually in July 2027.<\/p>\n<p>This investment is expected not only to drive an increase in national\nexports but also to provide real economic impacts through job absorption\nand strengthening of the domestic industry.<\/p>",
