We cannot allow the pace of AI development to\nslow down,\u201d Bae stated in a social media post, as reported by Yonhap\nNews on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Bae warned that the gap between nations possessing cutting-edge AI\nmodels\u2014approaching human-level intelligence\u2014and those without such\nsophistication could expand beyond the technological realm, impacting\nindustrial competitiveness, national security, and long-term economic\ngrowth.<\/p>\n<p>However, he cautioned against unconditional acceleration, stating\nthat AI safety and public trust must progress in tandem with\ntechnological advancements.<\/p>\n<p>Prominent figures including Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI CEO\nSam Altman, and SpaceX\u2019s Elon Musk have called for a slowdown in AI\ndevelopment to allow safety measures to catch up with technological\nprogress.
