        "content": "<p>Deputy Food Affairs Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq made the call in\nBanjarbaru on Wednesday after leading a strategic coordination meeting\non fires in Pengayuan on Tuesday (Aug.\u00a018).<\/p>\n<p>The meeting reviewed projected hotspots and the need for broader\nresource mobilization to anticipate drought conditions expected to\npersist for some time, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForest and land fires cannot be tackled piecemeal. They require\ncoordinated efforts involving the central and local governments,\nsecurity forces, communities, and businesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>After the meeting, Hanif and a joint team traveled to a detected\nhotspot in Banjarbaru\u2019s Pengayuan area to directly help extinguish fires\nas part of the emergency response.<\/p>\n<p>Joint personnel worked to prevent the fires from spreading,\nprioritizing areas near residential communities, surrounding\nenvironments, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>South Kalimantan Forestry Agency Head Fathimatuzzahra said her agency\nwas ready to strengthen cooperation and intensify fire-control efforts\nwith all stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuccessful fire control depends on close cooperation among\ngovernment, security forces, businesses, and communities.
