This strong trade performance, combined with 5.67% economic growth in the first quarter, provides a solid foundation for the region's economic momentum through the end of 2026.",
"content": "<p>The international trade balance in South Kalimantan recorded a\nsurplus of approximately IDR 16.48 trillion up to May 2026, supported by\nexports that remained high and expansive. The surplus grew by 6.19%\ncompared to the same period the previous year and increased by 14.45%\ncompared to April 2026, reflecting expansive foreign trade throughout\nthe beginning of the year. Export performance was recorded at around IDR\n19.81 trillion, an increase of 7.7% year-on-year. Meanwhile, imports\nalso rose by 16.1% year-on-year, but only reached IDR 3.33 trillion,\nwith the increase mainly influenced by higher imports of petroleum to\nmeet the needs of the industrial sector and economic activities. In line\nwith the positive trade performance, South Kalimantan\u2019s economy grew by\n5.67% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period the\nprevious year. The combination of a strong trade surplus, positive\neconomic growth, and healthy regional fiscal performance provides\nimportant capital for South Kalimantan to maintain growth momentum\nthrough the end of 2026.<\/p>",
