        "content": "<p>Former Deputy Chief of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sony\nSonjaya has revealed an alleged fictitious procurement of CCTV cameras\nand fingerprint devices within the corruption case concerning the\nmanagement of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme for 2025-2026.\nThe statement was conveyed by Sony Sonjaya\u2019s legal counsel, Krisna\nMurti, after accompanying his client during questioning as a suspect by\ninvestigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the\nAttorney General\u2019s Office in Jakarta on Thursday. \u201cMr Sony disclosed\nsomething larger than state losses, namely that before Mr Sony joined,\nthere was already a contract for the procurement of CCTV and fingerprint\ndevices,\u201d Krisna stated at the Jampidsus Building. Krisna explained that\nBGN contracted a third party or outsourcing firm for the procurement of\nCCTV and fingerprint devices with a value exceeding Rp300 billion. The\ncontract was said to have existed before Sony joined BGN. He mentioned\nthat each Nutritional Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) was to be fitted\nwith five CCTV units, bringing the total requirement to approximately\n5,000 CCTV units and fingerprint devices. \u201cSo all of it, 5,000 CCTVs and\nfingerprint devices, had to be installed. Beneficiaries must scan their\nfingerprints to be matched with the SPPG,\u201d he said. He added that the\nvendor\u2019s contract expires on 19 February 2026. Before the contract\nperiod ended, Sony had requested clarification from the vendor regarding\nthe procurement results at one school. However, according to him, the\nvendor could not demonstrate the procurement results. \u201cThis means the\n5,000 CCTVs with fingerprint devices for beneficiaries were not\ninstalled,\u201d Krisna stated. On Thursday, Jampidsus investigators\nquestioned Sony Sonjaya as a suspect in the alleged corruption case\ninvolving the MBG programme management for approximately nine hours.\nAfter the questioning, Sony, a retired National Police officer, did not\nprovide any statement to the media. In this case, Jampidsus\ninvestigators have named five suspects: former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana;\nformer BGN Deputy Chief for Organisational Development and Institutional\nRelations Lodewyk Pusung; former BGN Deputy Chief for Nutritional\nFulfilment Operations Sony Sonjaya; private sector party Asep Yusuf\nSoemantri; and Commissioner of PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal Andri\nMulyono.<\/p>",
