The competition was originally<br>\nplanned to end on Nov. 15.<\/p>\n<p>Azhari Baedlawie, the head of Jakarta's cultural affairs<br>\noffice, said the extension of the competition was intended to<br>\ngive the public a greater chance to participate.<\/p>\n<p>\"Over 50 songs have so far been submitted but the committee<br>\nconsiders the number inadequate because entries are not limited<br>\nto residents of Jakarta and its surroundings, but also to those<br>\nfrom other regions,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Azhari said that theme of the song should be based on the<br>\ncapital's slogan: Teguh Beriman, an abbreviation of Teruskan<br>\ngerakan untuk hidup bersih, indah, menarik, manusiawi dan aman<br>\n(Continuing the movement to live a healthy, delightful,<br>\nfascinating, humanly and secured life).<\/p>\n<p>The competition is aimed at popularizing the slogan among<br>\nJakartans, Azhari said, adding that the team of juries consist of<br>\nnoted music experts, including FX Sutopo, Trisutji Djuliati<br>\nKamal, Darma Oratmangun, Titiek Puspa and Barce van Houten.<\/p>\n<p>The city administration has provided a total of Rp 11 million<br>\n(US$5,200) in prizes for the selected top five songwriters.
