Son of Susilo celebrates in style<\/p>\n

Lamps made the Bogor Palace look dazzling on Saturday evening as
\nit welcomed thousands of guests for the wedding reception of the
\nfirst son of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, First Lt. Agus
\nHarimurti Yudhoyono, and model Annisa Pohan.<\/p>\n
The reception was held in the large rear garden of the Palace.
\nA giant tent, which could accommodate about 4,000 guests, was
\nnicely decorated with beautiful orchids, jasmine and other local
\nflowers.<\/p>\n
Among the guests were members of Susilo's Cabinet, heads of
\nstate institutions, ambassadors and high-ranking military
\nofficials.<\/p>\n
In a pool outside the tent, a dozen white ducks greeted the
\nguests.<\/p>\n
The bride, the groom and their parents looked charming in
\ntheir green Yogyakarta-style attire, created by high-profile
\ndesigner Adjie Notonegoro.<\/p>\n
For entertainment, famous Indonesian singers such as Dani
\nDewa, Krisdayanti, Ruth Sahanaya and Titiek Puspa were
\nperforming.<\/p>\n
The decorator creatively transformed the tent into a what
\nlooked like a very beautiful large room, with maroon fabric,
\nflowers and big crystal lamps to go along with a number of other
\nlamps.<\/p>\n
There was little information on why the wedding reception was
\nheld in the evening, which requires more electricity to light up
\nthe venue, something that seemed to go against the president's
\nown campaign to conserve energy.<\/p>\n
\"We held (the reception) on the terrace (of the Palace) to
\naccommodate security and protocol arrangements without disturbing
\nthe daily life of people in Jakarta and Bogor,\" Susilo said
\nduring a press conference before receiving guests.<\/p>\n
Four catering service companies served a range of food for the
\ndinner. The guests savored, among other delicacies, Salmon,
\nKorean Barbecue and Singaporean noodles.<\/p>\n
Without revealing the amount of money he spent for the all the
\nwedding ceremonies (which began on Thursday), Susilo convinced
\nIndonesians that he and the family would only accept \"ordinary
\ngifts\"<\/p>\n
\"We will not accept uncommon presents. I will return them,
\nshould there be any,\" he said, adding that he would be
\nresponsible for the expenses of all the festivities.<\/p>\n
Susilo dismissed rumors about the cost of the wedding and
\nreception, which were estimated by members of the press to be in
\nthe billions of rupiah range.<\/p>\n
\"The rumors are not true,\" said the president, who reported
\nhis personal wealth of about Rp 4.6 billion to the Anti-
\nCorruption Commission (KPK) last year after being nominated as a
\npresidential candidate.<\/p>\n
\"Trust me, I will be responsible for everything ... and (I)
\nwould never take one rupiah from the state or the people,\"
\nresponded the president, who looked uneasy by the questions.<\/p>\n
Susilo cut short the press conference after the questions on
\nthe cost.<\/p>\n
Agus and Annisa exchanged wedding vows on Friday afternoon at
\nthe home of Annisa's family, former deputy governor of Bank
\nIndonesia Aulia Pohan. The couple met more than a year ago in
\nBandung. Annisa said that she was ready to become the wife of
\nAgus, who is in the military.<\/p>",
