Some injured in student brawls<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Two separate brawls among students took place
\nyesterday in front of police offices in Central Jakarta, leaving
\na number of students injured from stone-throwing incidents.<\/p>\n
The first brawl occurred in front of the Central Jakarta
\nPolice precinct on Jl. Salemba, when two groups of senior high
\nschool students threw stones at each other. They also damaged the
\nwindshield of a public bus.<\/p>\n
Dozens of students from junior high schools were involved in a
\nbrawl in front of the Tanah Abang Police subprecinct on Jl. KH.
\nMas Mansyur. The students fled when police tried to disperse
\nthem.<\/p>\n
Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira
\nsaid he would instruct his subordinates to step up efforts to
\nreduce the rising number of brawls among students<\/p>\n
\"It's time for us to get tougher on brawling students,\"
\nAbubakar said.<\/p>\n
At least 10 students have been killed in separate brawls in
