Solution to Aceh conflict<\/p>\n

There has been so far no sign of a solution to the Aceh
\nconflict, which has been going on for quite some time. This may
\nbe caused by the fact that so many societal groups have so many
\ndifferent viewpoints on how to solve the problem.<\/p>\n
The Aceh conflict is a national issue. So, the central
\ngovernment should be involved in the effort to solve the
\nconflict. It is in fact a very simple matter. The solution could
\nalso be very simple, provided all concerned are really serious in
\nputting an end to the prolonged conflict.<\/p>\n
First, all members of the political elite in Aceh should unite
\nand sit around one table to deliberate on steps that need to be
\ntaken to reach a safe and conducive situation. And councilors in
\nAceh should be extremely careful in dealing with the development
\nin their area. They should always work in coordination with the
\nlocal authorities in the effort to restore order.<\/p>\n
Second, all components in society must not suspect each other.
\nThey should try to make the conflicting groups meet and talk.<\/p>\n
Third, they should be sure that laws No 22\/1999 and No 25\/1999
\nwhich are followed up by government regulations are thoroughly
\nimplemented in order to make a concrete step toward developing
\nAceh in compliance with societal demands.<\/p>\n
I am sure the Acehnese are fed up with their uncertain
\nsituation and unstable life. They should be guaranteed as good a
\nlife as the one enjoyed by their brothers and sisters in other
\nareas of the country.<\/p>\n
Let us hold a dialog to find the best solution to the Aceh
\ncrisis.<\/p>\n
