        "content": "<p>Long-distance railway passengers can take advantage of a new currency\nexchange service at Solo Balapan Station, which opened on Friday, 13\nMarch 2026. The service is a collaboration between PT Kereta Api\nIndonesia (Persero) or KAI Regional Operation 6 Yogyakarta and Bank\nIndonesia to help the public prepare for Eid celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta Public Relations Manager Feni Novida Saragih\nstated that the service is provided specifically for long-distance train\npassengers departing from or arriving at Solo Balapan Station on the\nsame day. Currency exchange will be available from 09:00 WIB in front of\nthe Joglo Hall at Solo Balapan Station, whilst quota remains\navailable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough collaboration with Bank Indonesia DIY, KAI Daop 6 provides a\nnew currency exchange service in the station area to facilitate\ncustomers who will travel for the Eid holiday. With this service,\ncustomers can conveniently exchange new notes before continuing their\njourney,\u201d Feni told journalists in Solo on Thursday, 12 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that the service can only be used by long-distance\ntrain passengers with tickets dated the same as the currency exchange\nschedule. Passengers must also present a valid identity card such as a\nnational ID (KTP). The currency to be exchanged must be brought in cash\nand cannot be taped, stapled, or attached with any other adhesive.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Indonesia has set a maximum exchange limit of Rp 5.3 million per\nperson with predetermined denominations. The breakdown is as follows: Rp\n50,000 notes maximum Rp 2.5 million, Rp 20,000 notes maximum Rp 1\nmillion, Rp 10,000 notes maximum Rp 1 million, Rp 5,000 notes maximum Rp\n500,000, Rp 2,000 notes maximum Rp 200,000, and Rp 1,000 notes maximum\nRp 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>According to Feni, providing the new currency exchange service at the\nstation is part of KAI\u2019s effort to enhance customer comfort during\nRamadan and leading up to Eid al-Fitr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKAI Daop 6 urges customers wishing to use this service to pay\nattention to the schedule and bring a valid long-distance train ticket\nand national ID on the exchange date.
