Soleh takes featherweight crown<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian boxer Soleh Sundava won the
\nfeatherweight title of the Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA)
\nafter canvassing Park Sung-hoon of South Korea on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Soleh fulfilled his fans' hope for him to knock out Park
\nbefore the sixth round of the 12-round bout, held at a studio of
\nprivate television station RCTI.<\/p>\n
\"I thank all the people who have supported and motivated me to
\nwin this title,\" he said with tears in his eyes.<\/p>\n
Soleh, 25, floored Park, three years his junior, with
\ncontinuous upper cuts to Park's torso and jaw, Antara reported on
\nWednesday.<\/p>\n
Park was out of his league from the opening bell. Some
\nspectators were skeptical of Park's second ranking in PABA after
\nobserving his poor technical skills and physical stature.<\/p>\n
\"He must be a lowly ranked boxer,\" Antara quoted Harun, a
\nboxing fan from Cengkareng, West Jakarta, as saying.<\/p>\n
Boxing promoter Tourino Tidar said he was satisfied with
\nSoleh's success. \"Soleh should defend his title in three months.
\nWe have to wait for another boxer to challenge him.\"<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Indonesian Andrian Kaspari will challenge
\nInternational Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight champion
\nLehlohonolo Ledwaba of South Africa in November despite testing
\npositive for hepatitis B.<\/p>\n
Andrian's promotor Herry \"Aseng\" Sugiarto was quoted by the
\nnews agency as saying his boxer would meet the world champion
\ndespite being forced to cancel a bout scheduled last Sunday.<\/p>\n
\"Andrian will still challenge the world champion because he is
\nthe first challenger on the IBF featherweight list. But he should
\nwait for the winner between Ledwaba and a boxer from Puerto Rico
\nin September,\" Aseng said in a discussion in Surabaya, East Java,
\non Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Andrian's fight was called off at the last minute after he
\ntested positive for hepatitis B in South Africa. The hepatitis
\nvirus is contained in saliva, blood and other bodily secretions.<\/p>\n
Aseng said that he would finance Andrian's treatment.<\/p>\n
\"He has three months left before the bout. If he is infected
\nwith hepatitis, I will take him to Singapore for medical
\ntreatment. I will finance the treatment.<\/p>\n
\"I think many sponsors are willing to support him,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Andrian's manager Eddy Pirih said Ledwaba used the discovery
\nof the hepatitis antibodies to avoid the fight. He said the IBF
\ndid not set regulations on tests for hepatitis or HIV, the virus
