'Soldier' arrested in Tangerang<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A man claiming to be a soldier has been arrested
\nfor allegedly trying to steal a motorcycle from a parking lot in
\nSukasari district, Tangerang, police said.<\/p>\n
City Police spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang said Tuesday that
\nthe alleged thief, Deni Saifudin, was caught red-handed Monday
\nafter the motorcycle's owner, Cas Redi, saw him and screamed for
\nhelp.<\/p>\n
\"Many people at the nearby parking lot that afternoon chased
\nDeni, who wore a military uniform, and mobbed him before handing
\nhim over to Tangerang police,\" Aritonang said.<\/p>\n
Deni claimed that he was a chief corporal from the local
\ndistrict command's medical unit and lived in the Yankav 9
\ndormitory, Tangerang, he said.<\/p>\n
The suspect is believed to have committed similar crimes prior
\nto his arrest Monday.<\/p>\n
Aritonang said the man intentionally wore a uniform, hoping
\nthat people would not become suspicious when he began \"checking\"
\nmotorcycles in the public parking lot.<\/p>\n
He was handed over to Military Police so it could be proved
