        "content": "<p>Softball included in National Games<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The National Sports Council (KONI) has decided<br>\nto include softball in the 2000 National Games (PON) in Surabaya,<br>\nEast Java, an official said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Abbas Adhar, the newly installed chairman of the Indonesian<br>\nBaseball and Softball Association (Perbasasi) for 1999 to 2003,<br>\nsaid that KONI chairman Wismoyo Arismunandar informed him of the<br>\nsport's inclusion, but said the association should provide its<br>\nown funding and set up its tentative lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Abbas, who is also chairman of the Indonesian Wood Panel<br>\nAssociation (Apkindo), said that Perbasasi would start training<br>\nfor the national championship later this year.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Perbasasi already raised some funds for its<br>\nprograms which would cost about Rp 200 million (US$29,4 million).<br>\nHe said the association also would seek donations from<br>\nbusinesspeople for their effort to participate in PON.<\/p>\n<p>Abbas will be assisted by his deputies Putranto, Harry A.<br>\nTrisnadi and Agustinus Aryawan, executive chairman Pramana<br>\nSurjaudaja, secretary-general Suryo Adi Prasetyo and treasurer<br>\nHendro Prastowo.
