Soekarno-Hatta International Airport recorded a total passenger
movement in the first quarter of 2026 reaching 13,492,421 passengers, an
increase of around 5.5% compared to the same period last year, which was
12,783,331 passengers. Over the first three months of this year, the
number of departing passengers was recorded at 6.73 million, and
arriving passengers at 6.76 million. Total aircraft movements also
posted an increase of 6.8%, from 86,777 flights to 92,710 flights,” said
General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Heru Karyadi on
Monday, 13 April 2026. He stated that this traffic increase aligns with
the growing demand for air travel in the early part of the year. “This
increase in flight traffic is in line with the growing demand for
flights during the Christmas and New Year holiday period in January
2026, as well as Eid transportation in March 2026.” The manager of
Soekarno-Hatta Airport, according to Heru, together with all airport
stakeholders, continues to ensure optimal operations to accommodate
aviation needs. Heru mentioned that the favourite flight routes in the
first three months of this year are still dominated by major domestic
routes, such as Jakarta-Denpasar, Jakarta-Kualanamu, and
Jakarta-Surabaya. Meanwhile, for international routes, flight traffic is
dominated by Jakarta-Singapore, Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, and
Jakarta-Jeddah. “This reflects the high mobility of the community for
business needs, tourism, or pilgrimage travel,” he said. Heru stated
that this increase in the number of passengers and aircraft movements is
also supported by airport operational optimisation and close
collaboration with all stakeholders, including airlines and other work
partners. According to him, Soekarno-Hatta Airport will continue to
commit to improving service quality and strengthening operational
reliability to provide the best experience for service users. In the
second quarter of 2026, said Heru, Soekarno-Hatta Airport will focus on
serving prospective Hajj pilgrims during the Hajj transportation period,
as well as services during the school holiday period.
",
