Dr.\u00a0Ir. H. Sodik Mudjahid, M.Sc., the new Chairman of Indonesia\u2019s\nNational Zakat Board (BAZNAS), has pledged his commitment to continuing\nthe beneficial programmes established by his predecessor. During the\nhandover ceremony and farewell reception for BAZNAS leadership in\nJakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026, Mudjahid emphasised that his\nleadership will prioritise institutional continuity and quality\nimprovement.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe remain committed to furthering the good deeds that are part of\nnatural law. Each day must be better than the last,\u201d Mudjahid stated\nbefore the 2026-2031 BAZNAS leadership team and their predecessors.<\/p>\n
Mudjahid clarified that improvement efforts are not a criticism of\nthe previous board but rather represent the natural evolution of an\ninstitution striving for continuous development. \u201cWe are ready, God\nwilling, to continue the beneficial work already undertaken,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to Mudjahid, his leadership roadmap has been shaped by five\nmajor mandates from the President of Indonesia. These include maximising\nnational zakat collection potential, projected to reach Rp327 trillion;\nstrengthening inter-institutional cooperation and data synchronisation;\nand reinforcing BAZNAS structures down to village and sub-district\nlevels.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnother key mandate concerns combating corruption\u2014an issue the\nPresident conveyed to us with utmost seriousness,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
As a concrete step in building upon existing foundations, Mudjahid\ntargets completing internal consolidation within a short timeframe. With\nwhat he describes as exceptional human resources, he is confident that\ninternal policy frameworks will solidify within six months maximum.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will focus on working with fellow leaders to build networks\nsupporting this internal process. We are ready to continue the\ncharitable work undertaken by our predecessors,\u201d Mudjahid added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0KH. Noor Achmad, M.A., the outgoing BAZNAS\nChairman for 2020-2025, delivered a profound message about the\nimportance of sustained zakat advocacy to earn divine blessing. He also\noffered full support to Mudjahid as his successor.<\/p>\n
\u201cZakat advocacy must continue to be championed and advanced, so that\nour work will truly obtain the blessing of Almighty Allah. Amen. I am\n100 per cent confident that my friend Pak Sodik knows how to develop an\norganisation,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
With presidential approval and the formal handover ceremony, BAZNAS\nhas officially entered a new leadership chapter for 2026-2031. The\nleadership transition has been entrusted to the incoming BAZNAS\nleadership team.<\/p>\n
