        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf has\nexpressed confidence that the tradition of communal unity and mutual\nrespect amongst Indonesian society is key to achieving peace when\nseveral major religious celebrations take place in close succession,\nsuch as Nyepi, Eid al-Fitr, and Easter this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe proximity of religious celebrations actually becomes an\nopportunity to strengthen attitudes of mutual respect between faith\ncommunities in Indonesia,\u201d Saifullah said when met in Jakarta on\nFriday.<\/p>\n<p>The habit of mutual respect has become part of the nation\u2019s\ncharacter, passed down through generations\u2014not only for Muslims, but for\nall religions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our communal spirit. We can respect one another because we\nalready have this tradition,\u201d said Saifullah.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the diversity of religious celebrations such as Nyepi,\nEid al-Fitr, and other major holy days demonstrates Indonesia\u2019s cultural\nrichness and tolerance, which form the nation\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the figure, who is also a prominent member of Nahdlatul\nUlama (NU), called on society to continue upholding attitudes of mutual\nrespect, understanding, and compassion towards one another to maintain a\npeaceful atmosphere during these religious celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe spirit of communal unity and tolerance that has developed within\nsociety can continue to be nurtured, so that religious celebrations can\ntake place safely, comfortably, and peacefully,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
