The Indonesian government has begun disbursing the second phase of social assistance under the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) for 2026, with 11,014 previous recipients deemed ineligible following data updates. This refinement, based on the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN), ensures benefits target those in genuine need, with citizens encouraged to check their status online using their ID numbers. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasised ongoing collaborations with local governments to maintain accurate and dynamic recipient lists.

The government has started distributing social assistance for the PKH
and BPNT programmes in the second phase of 2026, using a new scheme
based on updated data. In this process, 11,014 recipients have been
declared no longer eligible for social assistance. The distribution of
social assistance under the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Non-Cash
Food Assistance (BPNT) for the second phase of 2026 has been underway
since the second week of April. Amid the disbursement process, the
public is urged to independently check their social assistance recipient
status. This is important because the list of recipients has been
updated and is dynamic. Social assistance data updates are conducted
through the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN), which is
continuously revised. This removal is carried out to make social
assistance distribution more targeted. This means that previous
recipients are not necessarily still registered as recipients after the
re-verification process. The public can check their social assistance
recipient status online using their ID number via mobile phone. The
system will display information such as the recipient’s name, decile
group, type of assistance, recipient status, and distribution period.
Social assistance is distributed through state-owned banks or PT Pos
Indonesia. For new recipients who do not yet have bank accounts,
assistance is temporarily channelled through PT Pos before being
transferred to a bank. Some factors causing someone to no longer receive
social assistance include improved economic conditions, entering the
middle decile category (5–10), and results from the latest verification
and validation of data. On the other hand, individuals who previously
did not receive PKH and BPNT assistance may be included as new
recipients after data updates. For those who feel eligible but are not
registered, applications can be made through local neighbourhood
associations (RT/RW), the Social Services Office, or official services
of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos). Social Affairs Minister
Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, emphasised that DTSEN updates are
conducted continuously, involving local governments down to the RT/RW
level. “Therefore, we continue to consolidate with local governments,
especially village and sub-district apparatus,” said Gus Ipul.
",
