        "content": "<p>SMS debtors get discounts from IBRA<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA)<br>\nwill provide a 100 percent interest discount and 100 percent<br>\npenalty discount to small- and medium-scale debtors of productive<br>\ncredit facilities worth up to Rp 5 billion (about US$560,000).<\/p>\n<p>The agency said in a statement on Thursday that the facility<br>\nwould be granted only to the debtors who agreed to settle their<br>\ntotal outstanding debts.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The facility is not applicable to mortgage loans, car loans<br>\nand credit cards,&quot; the agency said, adding that the facility,<br>\nwhich is provided for under its special crash program to speed up<br>\ndebt settlement, will be available in the period from July 24 to<br>\nAugust 18, next month.<\/p>\n<p>The special crash program will be conducted simultaneously at<br>\nIBRA headquarters in Jakarta and its 10 representative offices in<br>\nBandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar, Medan, Lampung, Pontianak,<br>\nBalikpapan, Manado and Makassar.<\/p>\n<p>The agency said that eligible recipients of the program were<br>\ndebtors of 38 closed down banks, 12 nationalized banks and seven<br>\nbanks under government&apos;s recapitalization program.<\/p>\n<p>The facility is part of a series of the agency&apos;s crash<br>\nprograms launched earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>IBRA said that it had collected cash amounting to Rp 650<br>\nbillion from the previous crash program, from 7,985 debtors.
