SMP 188 wins VP's trophy<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Junior High School (SMP) 188 won the Vice
\nPresident's trophy for race walking, held Saturday, to celebrate
\nthe 51st anniversary of the Association of Indonesian Journalists
\n(PWI) and the anniversary of National Press Day.<\/p>\n
The SMP 188 was declared the overall champion with the highest
\nscore of 472 among 50 groups participating in the race.
\nIt also won the trophy in Group B (for male junior and senior
\nhigh school students).<\/p>\n
Fifty teams, in four groups of racing, joined the 10-kilometer
\nwalking race, which started from the National Monument square in
\nCentral Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Group A was for students from elementary schools, B for junior
\nhigh schools, C for general and D for press workers.<\/p>\n
The Jakarta Post, which sent two teams, got trophies for its
\nsecond and third positions in Group D. The winner in the group
\nwas the Press Council team.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the National Sports Committee Wismoyo Arismunandar
\nopened the race, while the referees were officials from the
\nCity's Sports Agency.<\/p>\n
The event was held by the PWI in cooperation with LIPPO bank.
