Several returnees passing through Central Java during the 2026\nLebaran mudik and return flow have expressed appreciation for the\ncondition of the road infrastructure and the supporting services\nprepared by the government.<\/p>\n
This is because the Central Java Provincial Government has maximally\nprovided services to returnees transiting the province.<\/p>\n
Haikal Faiz (18), a returnee from Grobogan heading to Jakarta,\nassessed that the condition of roads in Central Java is now far better\nthan a few years ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cCompared to two years ago, there have been many changes now. There\nare still some potholed spots, but overall it\u2019s good,\u201d he said, after\nrefuelling at the Weleri Kendal Ring Road SPBU on Tuesday, 24 March\n2026.<\/p>\n
The two-wheeled vehicle driver rated public facilities such as\nmosques and SPBUs used for resting as clean and adequate.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cleanliness is maintained, the water is clear, so it\u2019s\ncomfortable for resting,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
However, Haikal hopes for additional mudik posts at strategic points\nto assist returnees during traffic congestion.<\/p>\n
Another returnee from Kudus heading to Jakarta, Edi, admitted that\nhis mudik experience was comfortable and smooth, especially regarding\nroad infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cA month ago, I saw that the Semarang-Kudus road was badly damaged\nand potholed, but yesterday we returned very smoothly,\u201d said Edi.<\/p>\n
In agreement, Tio Setiawan (36), a returnee from Banjarnegara, also\nappreciated the quality of the roads during this year\u2019s mudik and return\nflow.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe infrastructure is good, the roads are smooth. The journey was\nrelatively smooth,\u201d he said while stopping at the Jatingaleh KM 424 Rest\nArea in Semarang City, heading to Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Tio admitted to witnessing some road incidents, but they did not\ndisrupt the overall journey.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Ken Aditya (40), a returnee from Sumenep heading to\nJakarta, described the routes in Central Java as in prime condition.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom Solo to Semarang, it\u2019s all good, no potholes. So the journey\nwas smooth without obstacles,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
He also appreciated the rest area facilities, which he rated as\ncomplete and clean, from places of worship to culinary areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe facilities are complete and well-maintained, so returnees can\nrest comfortably,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He admitted to staying overnight in Solo for a day to visit the\nSurakarta Palace and enjoy the local cuisine.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the Central Java Provincial Government has also\nensured health services for returnees remain on standby during the mudik\nand return flow period.<\/p>\n
A health officer at the Weleri Toll Exit Mudik Post in Kendal,\nMarlina, stated that services were open from 16 to 25 March 2026 and\noperated 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach shift has two officers. Returnees who come typically undergo\nminor health checks like blood pressure monitoring,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
She added that visitor numbers at the toll exit post were relatively\nsteady due to one-way traffic arrangements, while returnee numbers at\nrest areas tended to be busier.<\/p>\n
The Central Java Provincial Government continues to urge returnees to\nremain cautious, maintain physical condition, and utilise the provided\nfacilities and service posts for safety and comfort during the Lebaran\nreturn journey.<\/p>\n
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi assured that the road\ninfrastructure in Central Java is in good condition and has not caused\nsignificant complaints from the public. Additionally, traffic accidents\nhave decreased.<\/p>\n
