Smoke resulting from forest and land fires (karhutla) was once again\nvisible in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area on Monday (14\/9).\nFurthermore, active flames were also observed.<\/p>\n
This was confirmed during an inspection conducted by the Minister of\nForestry, Raja Antoni, alongside the Head of BNPB, Lieutenant General\nTNI Suharyanto, and the Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN),\nBasuki Hadimuljono, at Bukit Tengkorak on Monday (14\/9).<\/p>\n
The smoke and fire became visible as the delegation finished\ninspecting two specific locations. While continuing their journey,\nrising plumes of white smoke were spotted.<\/p>\n
The group halted immediately to inspect the site. Raja Antoni\nsubsequently summoned several members of the Ministry of Forestry\u2019s\nManggala Agni, as well as TNI and Polri personnel on duty in the\nvicinity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is burning again. Where is Manggala Agni? Go down and bring your\ncolleagues. There is smoke again,\u201d said Raja Antoni, as quoted from a\nwritten statement on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease coordinate the deployment of Manggala Agni, TNI, and Polri.\nFind the nearest route,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Raja Antoni also requested the Head of the Kalimantan Forest Fire\nControl Office, Yudo Shekti Mustiko, to continuously monitor the\nfirefighting process and the fire\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n
\u201cMonitor the fire again, sir. For the smaller flames, Manggala Agni\nshould tackle them collectively. It is smoking again; continue\nextinguishing it while it is still small,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Raja Antoni stated that, following orders from President Prabowo\nSubianto, the government\u2014alongside the TNI, Polri, BNPB, the Ministry of\nForestry, OIKN, local governments, and the community\u2014is working\nhand-in-hand to handle the forest fires in the region. These efforts are\nbeing undertaken to ensure that the fire does not reach the core zone of\nthe IKN.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs instructed by President Prabowo Subianto, all of us\u2014TNI, Polri,\nBNPB, Ministry of Forestry, OIKN, the community, and Local\nGovernment\u2014are working together so that the fire does not reach the core\nzone of the OIKN,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Raja Antoni noted that the response involves several simultaneous\nmeasures. He stated that water bombing operations are ongoing, while\nWeather Modification Operations (OMC) are also being implemented to\nsupport fire management.<\/p>\n
Additionally, ground-based firefighting involves the TNI, Polri, the\nMinistry of Forestry\u2019s Manggala Agni, the Forest Management Unit (KPH),\nOIKN, and private companies.<\/p>\n
\u201cWater bombing efforts are continuing; the Head of BNPB will provide\nan update later today. Weather modification operations are also\nunderway. Similarly, ground-based firefighting is being carried out by\nthe TNI, Polri, Manggala Agni, KPH, OIKN, and involved companies,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
