The committee of SMK IDN Boarding School has submitted additional evidence to the West Java Ombudsman regarding alleged maladministration in the provincial government's decision to revoke the school's operating permit. This follows an initial complaint filed in March 2026, highlighting procedural irregularities and potential conflicts of interest that have left hundreds of students in uncertainty, particularly those nearing graduation. The case stems from disputes over student expulsions, and the committee urges a thorough investigation to ensure public policy accountability and protect educational rights.

The SMK IDN Boarding School Committee visited the Ombudsman of the
Republic of Indonesia Representative for West Java on Thursday, 9 April
2026. Committee Chairman Eko Aprianto stated that the committee
submitted additional evidence in the case of alleged maladministration
concerning the West Java Provincial Government’s policy to cancel the
SMK IDN Boarding School’s permit.

This step is an official follow-up to the report submitted to the
Central Ombudsman RI in Jakarta on 12 March 2026, which is now entering
the verification and further investigation stage at the regional
level.

During the meeting, the Committee submitted various pieces of
evidence, including recordings of meetings indicating the
decision-making process, meeting minutes documenting the dynamics and
chronology of the policy, on-site visual documentation, and other
supporting administrative documents.

Eko stated that this evidence is not merely supplementary but serious
indications that need to be objectively examined by the Ombudsman.

“We are not coming with assumptions. We are coming with evidence,” he
said in an official statement on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

The Committee requested that the Ombudsman of the Republic of
Indonesia not stop at formalities. The Committee also asked for an
examination of the process behind the issuance of the policy and for the
Ombudsman to investigate possible negligence, procedural deviations, or
conflicts of interest.

“And to uncover whether the decision was taken objectively or under
certain pressures,” he said.

According to Eko, this controversy impacts the students of SMK IDN.
Hundreds of students are now in a situation of uncertainty, while time
continues to pass, especially for Year XII students who will soon face
graduation.

The Committee hopes that the process at the Ombudsman will become a
bright spot to ensure that public policy is not implemented haphazardly
and without accountability.

“If there are mistakes, they must be corrected. If there are
deviations, they must be exposed. And if there are those who are harmed,
their rights must be restored, especially the educational rights of the
students,” he said.

Previously, a dozen parents of students from SMK IDN Boarding School
Bogor visited the Ombudsman RI to follow up on the complaint report
submitted on 12 March 2026.

Chairman of the SMK IDN Boarding School Bogor Committee, Eko
Aprianto, asked the Ombudsman to examine the alleged maladministration
in the issuance of the West Java Governor’s Decree (SK) that revoked the
operational permit of SMK IDN Boarding School Bogor.

The case began when several students were allegedly involved in
serious violations while abroad. Some of those students were suspected
of smoking and accessing pornography sites. The school then decided to
drop out (DO) them in November 2025. However, the parents of the
expelled students did not accept this. They then challenged the school’s
operational permit to the West Java Provincial Government in December
2025.

On 12 January 2026, the school committee held an audience with the
Head of the Vocational Secondary School Development Division of the West
Java Education Office, Edy Purwanto. In that meeting, there was a
discussion regarding the plan to cancel the school’s permit. However,
the Education Office promised to request a suspension of that decision
until the end of the semester.

On 5 March 2026, the school received notification that the West Java
Governor’s Decree Number: 188/Kep.17-DPMPTSP/2026 had been issued,
signed on 19 January 2026. The issuance on 19 January was without
notification to the school.

According to Kompas, the Head of the West Java Education Office,
Purwanto, stated that the cancellation of the school’s operational
permit was not intended to halt students’ learning activities. That step
was instead taken so that the students’ educational status has a clear
legal basis. “The government wants to ensure that the educational rights
of children in West Java are fulfilled properly and in accordance with
applicable rules,” he said at a press conference at the West Java
DPMPTSP Office, Jalan Cianjur, Bandung City, on Thursday, 12 March
2026.

According to him, the decision to cancel the permit had gone through
a discussion and dialogue process with the school management. On 21
January 2026, the provincial government and the school also agreed on
several steps to ensure that the students’ education process
continues.
",
