        "content": "<p>Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (SMAN) 77 Jakarta in Cempaka Putih,\nCentral Jakarta, provided various materials to new students for the\n2026\/2027 academic year on the second day of MPLS, Tuesday, 14 July\n2026. Vice Principal for Student Affairs Mugi Mulyani stated that the\nmaterials included anti-bullying and the dangers of drugs. \u201cThe theme of\nMPLS is creating a safe, comfortable, and clean school environment,\u201d she\nsaid at the school.<\/p>\n<p>The school has accepted 213 new students. Preparations began with a\npre-MPLS event on Saturday, 11 July 2026, aimed at introducing students\nto the school atmosphere and teachers. Students were only required to\nbring identification, a cap, and a tumbler. The MPLS runs from Monday,\n13 July, to Friday, 17 July 2026, with the theme of creating a safe,\ncomfortable, and clean school environment.<\/p>\n<p>Over the two days of MPLS, the school has provided various materials\nto students. Anti-bullying material was delivered by the DKI Jakarta\nChild Empowerment, Protection, and Population Control Agency on Monday.\nOn Tuesday, the school invited members of the Indonesian National Armed\nForces (TNI) to provide marching drills and the National Narcotics\nAgency (BNN) to deliver education on the dangers of drugs. The school\nalso provided briefings from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and invited\nthe police to raise legal awareness among students. \u201cThere is also a\nbriefing on disaster preparedness,\u201d Mugi added.<\/p>\n<p>During MPLS, student activities conclude in the afternoon. Before\ngoing home, they are invited to perform congregational prayers at the\nmosque to instil religious character. \u201cFor non-Muslim students, the\nschool also provides a multipurpose room for communal prayer,\u201d she said.\nIn addition to material briefings, new students are invited to\nparticipate in group exercises and to familiarise themselves with\nfacilities around the school environment, such as the sub-district\noffice, as well as watching extracurricular activity performances.<\/p>\n<p>Mugi expressed hope that all new students can pursue their education\nat SMAN 77 with a sense of security and without pressure. She also hopes\nthe conducive school environment will help students focus on achieving\ntheir aspirations, \u201cwithout any physical or psychological fear.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu\u2019ti previously\nreminded all schools to no longer hold initiation or seniority practices\nduring the MPLS for the 2026\/2027 academic year. The message was\ndelivered to coincide with the first day of the national \u2018Ramah MPLS\u2019\nprogramme, which runs from 13 to 17 July 2026. According to him, MPLS\nshould be an enjoyable start for students to get to know the school\nenvironment, not an occasion for intimidating new students.<\/p>",
