Deputy Chairman of the MPR Socialisation Agency, Agun Gunandjar Sudarsa, urged students to make the most of their time, resist negative digital influences, and internalise the Four Pillars—Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika—as a unifying force against globalisation's challenges to Indonesia's diversity. The event, attended by high-ranking officials including MPR representatives and the West Kalimantan Governor's aide, underscores the MPR's efforts to instil national values in the youth through educational competitions.

SMAN 1 Sambas emerged as the first-place winner in the final of the
Four Pillars MPR Quiz Competition at the provincial level, which took
place in Pontianak yesterday. In the final round, SMAN 1 Sambas defeated
SMAN 1 Pontianak, which came second, and SMAN 1 Sanggau, which took
third place.

Deputy Chairman of the MPR Socialisation Agency, Agun Gunandjar
Sudarsa, reminded students to make good use of their time and avoid
activities that only lead to regret. Especially since there is much
potential that can be developed in each individual.

“At this age, you are vulnerable to negative influences. Especially
in the digital era, which can lead astray. Therefore, continue to learn,
because education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but also
attitudes and character,” said Agun in his statement on Sunday
(10/5/2026).

According to Agun, the Four Pillars form the foundation of the great
house amid globalisation. Because Indonesia’s diversity has the
potential to cause divisions. For that reason, a unifier is needed to
transform various differences into unity and collective strength.

“The Four Pillars must become the spirit of the Indonesian nation.
Within them is Pancasila, which functions as a foundation of values that
determine moral direction and values; the 1945 Constitution of the
Republic of Indonesia as a legal framework; NKRI as the living space
that must be protected; and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as the unifying spirit
from the existing diversity,” Agun explained.

On that occasion, Agun asked the younger generation not to make
geographical distance a problem. He emphasised that in the modern era,
what becomes an obstacle for the younger generation is the influx of
external values. Therefore, the Four Pillars must serve as pillars that
protect the younger generation from exposure to bad external values.

“Therefore, the Four Pillars are not enough to just be memorised. But
they must take root in the conscience and be applied in everyday life,”
he said.

Agun also extended congratulations to whoever emerged as the winner.
He asked them to continue learning and striving, because what they will
represent in the national-level LCC event later is not only the school
but also the name of the region.

For information, the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition (LCC) at
the West Kalimantan provincial level in 2026 was participated in by nine
entrants, from 137 schools that underwent selection at the district/city
level. The nine schools are SMAN 1 Pontianak, SMAN 3 Singkawang, SMAN 1
Seponti, SMA Santo Paulus Pontianak, SMA Katolik Santo Paulus Pontianak,
SMA Katolik Santo Petrus Pontianak, SMAN 1 Sambas, SMAN 1 Sanggau, MAS
Darussalam Sengkubang, and MAN 1 Sintang.

The competition was opened by Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Dr. H.
M. Hidayat Nur Wahid MA, marked by the beating of a drum. Also present
at the opening were Deputy Chairman of the MPR Socialisation Agency Agun
Gunandjar Sudarsa, member of the MPR Study Agency Alifudin, the West
Kalimantan Governor represented by Governor’s Aide Yosafat Triadhi
Andjioe, and Acting Head of the West Kalimantan Education Office Syarief
Faisal Idahmawah Alkadri.
",
