Smallest chess pieces recorded<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Small is beautiful. Or it certainly is the case
\nfor Prasetyo Sumedi who was officially recognized yesterday as
\nhaving made the smallest chess pieces in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The set was made in one week with the tallest pieces, the
\nKings, standing a \"sizable\" nine millimeters high and three
\nmillimeters wide.<\/p>\n
The smallest pieces, the pawns, are seven millimeters tall and
\ntwo millimeters wide.<\/p>\n
The chess board is 35 millimeters square and 4.5 millimeters
\nthick.<\/p>\n
All the pieces are made of wood.<\/p>\n
For his zeal, the resident of Salatiga, Central Java, received
\na certificate in Semarang, Central Java, stating that his
\naccomplishment was now recorded in the Indonesian Museum of
\nRecords.<\/p>\n
As reported by Antara, the certificate was presented by the
\nmuseum's manager, Paulus Pangka, who said that it was the 300th
\nrecord to be entered in the museum.<\/p>\n
Another record which has recently been entered is the 40-story
\nMulia Senayan Hotel in South Jakarta, which at eight-and-a-half
\nmonths was recorded as the fastest built.<\/p>\n
In February, the museum entered the name of a 75-year-old man
\nnicknamed \"the man of a thousand faces\" because he is able to
\ntwist his face into numerous positions.<\/p>\n
Masngudin of Tegalsari Barat village near Semarang could
\nchange his face by moving the muscles in his eyes, mouth, and
\nnose.<\/p>\n
Paulus said it was possible that Masngudin's \"miraculous
\nability\" could be recorded also in the Guinness Book of World
