Small change at Ramayana<\/p>\n

I frequently shop at Ramayana Slipi Jaya, which is close to my
\noffice. Every time I shop there I become annoyed because Ramayana
\ndoes not seem to provide the cashiers with small change, like Rp
\n25 or Rp 50.<\/p>\n
When the change is below Rp 100, a customer will be given a
\ncandy. If, for example, the change is Rp 2,775, a customer will
\nget only Rp 2,700 plus one candy. If the change is Rp 25 or Rp
\n50, a customer will also get a candy. This practice applies to
\nall customers.<\/p>\n
My question is: why can't Ramayana get supplies of Rp 25 and
\nRp 50 coins while other retailers can.<\/p>\n
I strongly assume that this is the policy pursued by
\nRamayana's management. In Ramayana shops in Ciputat and Blok M,
\nfor example, no Rp 25 and Rp 50 coins are provided to the
\ncashiers.<\/p>\n
Perhaps, the management does not think Rp 25 or Rp 50 is worth
\nanything, and "forces" customers to buy candy. In some cases, the
\ncustomers need the change more than candy. The management must
\nrealize that the full value of change is a consumer's right.<\/p>\n
By refusing to give customers the change they deserve,
\nRamayana is showing its disrespect for Bank Indonesia and the
\ngovernment, which have issued small-denomination coins for the
\npeople. However little the nominal value of money is, people need
\nit.<\/p>\n
