Six Bogor Brimob members dismissed<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): The Bogor police dishonorably discharged six
\nmembers of the 1st mobile brigade (Brimob) regiment in Kedung
\nHalang on Monday for desertion and violation of professional
\nnorms.<\/p>\n
Regimental commanding officer Sr. Comr. Sujitno said at a
\nceremony marking the promotion of 109 mobile brigade members and
\nthe dismissal of the renegades, that the six had repeatedly
\nviolated police regulations as well as the law in general despite
\nfrequent attempts to reform them.<\/p>\n
Without elaborating on the types of offenses committed, he
\nsaid that their unlawful acts had brought disgrace to the police
\nand damaged the public interest.<\/p>\n
Under the current conditions of security instability, "the
\npolice as a law enforcement agency should be capable of
\novercoming all kinds of disturbances across the country," he
\nadded.<\/p>\n
Only one of the six mobile brigade members being discharged
\nwas present at the ceremony while the whereabouts of the other
\nfive remains unknown. (21)<\/p>",
