        "content": "<p>Six arrested in West Timor riot<\/p>\n<p>KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara (JP): Six people have been arrested<br>\non charges of inciting a riot Monday in Kafemananu, West Timor,<br>\n200 kilometers east of here, police said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>East Nusa Tenggara police inspector Colonel Taufik S. said 19<br>\npeople, including three police officers, were injured and a<br>\nmarket burned down in the riot Monday night.<\/p>\n<p>Two hundred migrants from Java and South Sulawesi who were<br>\nworking at a construction site belonging to PT Adhi Karya had<br>\nsince sought refuge at the local police and military stations,<br>\nTaufik said.<\/p>\n<p>The riot began when a group of youths attacked 16 workers from<br>\nAtambua who had just arrived at the site in Kafemananu. The 16<br>\nwere still in hospital yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the attack, about 200 people raided the market<br>\nand set fire to it, Antara news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>The migrant workers fled to the police and military station<br>\nTuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Sources at Kefamenanu hospital said the conditions of the 16<br>\nworkers were stable. One of the injured police officers was<br>\nidentified as First Lieutenant Aloysius.<\/p>\n<p>Officials in Kupang said the authorities were still wondering<br>\nwhat had caused the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Many shops remained closed in Kafemananu yesterday.
