The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the\nMinistry of Law has introduced SIVIKI (Virtual Intellectual Property\nInformation System) as an official online consultation service for\nintellectual property (IP) applicants and the public. SIVIKI serves as a virtual consultation platform based on video\nconferencing, offering direct explanations regarding procedures,\nrequirements, and stages of IP applications. Through this service, DJKI\nseeks to enhance applicants\u2019 understanding, ensuring that every IP\nsubmission process complies with applicable laws and regulations.<\/p>\n
The Director General of Intellectual Property, Hermansyah Siregar,\nstated that SIVIKI is part of DJKI\u2019s commitment to delivering easily\naccessible public services. Applicants can interact directly with\nofficers via SIVIKI to obtain precise services and information,\nsupporting the smooth running of the application process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough SIVIKI, DJKI provides an official consultation service that\nis easily accessible to the public. This service is expected to help\napplicants understand intellectual property procedures correctly, so\nthat the application process runs in accordance with regulations and IP\nprotection can be provided optimally,\u201d said Hermansyah at the DJKI\noffice some time ago.<\/p>\n
SIVIKI is designed for more comprehensive consultation needs.\nProviding direct interaction through video, this platform is equipped\nwith a screen-sharing feature that facilitates the visual explanation of\ndocuments, systems, or specific materials. Additionally, there is a text\nchat feature during sessions, including facilities for uploading\ndocuments as supporting consultation materials.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe SIVIKI service covers consultations on various intellectual\nproperty regimes, such as trademarks, patents, industrial designs,\ncopyrights, geographical indications, and trade secrets. These\nconsultations are conducted online with competent DJKI officers\naccording to their field,\u201d explained Hermansyah.<\/p>\n
In addition to SIVIKI, DJKI also provides Webchat as a text-based\nconversation consultation channel. Through Webchat, users can\ncommunicate in real time with information service officers for brief\nconsultations, information clarifications, or submitting questions\nrelated to IP services.<\/p>\n
Webchat is equipped with a document attachment sending feature that\nusers can utilise to submit supporting documents quickly and\npractically. This channel is considered effective for simple\nconsultation needs that do not require in-depth discussions.<\/p>\n
DJKI emphasises that Webchat and SIVIKI are strategic efforts to\nstrengthen the national IP protection system. In addition to ensuring\ninformation accuracy, these services are also crucial for safeguarding\napplicants\u2019 data security and ensuring that the service process complies\nwith legal provisions.<\/p>\n
Information regarding service schedules can be accessed from Monday\nto Thursday between 08:00 and 15:00, and Fridays between 08:00 and\n15:30. The SIVIKI and Webchat services are available on the official\nDJKI website at dgip.go.id.<\/p>\n
To complement the service ecosystem, DJKI also provides a Call Centre\nat 152, email at [email protected], and lapor.go.id. DJKI continues to\nconduct outreach to increase public familiarity and utilisation of these\nofficial consultation services.<\/p>\n
Through these various digital service channels, DJKI hopes to promote\nincreased awareness of intellectual property protection.
