        "content": "<p>Moscow (ANTARA) - The situation in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran\u2019s\ncoastal cities has returned to normal after an exchange of fire between\nIran and the United States, according to a Press TV report on\nFriday.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Thursday night, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the\nCentral Headquarters of Khatam al-Anbiya, stated that the US violated\nthe ceasefire by attacking several Iranian areas, including the coast of\nKhamir port, Sirik city, and Qeshm Island, as well as two Iranian\nships.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s armed forces immediately retaliated by attacking a US warship\neast of the Strait of Hormuz and south of Chabahar port, causing\nsignificant damage, he added.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the US Central Command stated that US forces \u201celiminated\nincoming threats and targeted Iranian military facilities from which\nattacks were launched against US troops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the command, the US does not want escalation but is\nprepared to respond.
