        "content": "<p>SingPower, Pertamina's deal<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Dow Jones): Singapore Power has finalized a letter<br>\nof agreement to buy Sumatra natural gas from Indonesia's state-<br>\nrun Pertamina and intends to sign a deal next week, Singapore<br>\nPower officials said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesian officials told the media last week that the highly<br>\ncontentious natural gas deal would be signed by the end of the<br>\nmonth.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore Power will reportedly buy US$7 billion worth of<br>\nnatural gas from the Asamera fields in southern Sumatra from<br>\nPertamina for 20 years beginning in 2002. Singapore Power<br>\nwouldn't confirm any of the details of the agreement Thursday.<br>\nPertamina officials couldn't be reached for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The Asamera fields are operated by Gulf Indonesia Resources<br>\nLtd.<\/p>",
