Singer sues producers<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Local jazz vocalist Iga Mawarni filed on Tuesday
\na defamation suit at Jakarta Police Headquarters against two top
\ndirectors of the record company which produced her debut album,
\nKasmaran (Infatuated).<\/p>\n
"I reject strongly what the directors of JK records, Judi
\nChristianto and Djadjat Sudradjat, have said about me in the mass
\nmedia...that my entire livelihood has been funded by JK Records,"
\nIga told reporters.<\/p>\n
"At the time when the record was being produced, my parents
\nremained financially responsible for me."<\/p>\n
The singer claimed that her contract with the recording
\ncompany was illegal because it was signed by her when she was
\njust 13 years old. Based on the contract Iga was supposed to
\nrelease four albums.<\/p>\n
Iga arrived at Jakarta Police Headquarters at about 2:30 p.m.
\non Tuesday, and was questioned by detectives until 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
She added that she had also filed a separate civil suit
\nagainst JK Records and that her case was being processed at North
