Singaporean fugitive arrested<\/p>\n

Obviously not learning from past mistakes, Singaporean Tang Kheng
\nSeng, 32, alias Jeremy, was arrested again on Tuesday evening
\nwhile trying to steal from lockers in a spa facility of a hotel
\nin Bali, the same crime that the fugitive was earlier arrested
\nfor in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
City Police chief Insp. Firman Gani said the suspect was
\nexpected to arrive in Jakarta in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
"The suspect will be charged with two crimes ... the last
\ntheft case will be added the first. The case file will be ready
\nto be submitted to prosecutors in a week," he said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
He dismissed possibility that Jeremy had psychological
\nproblems that may had driven him to steal other peoples'
\nbelongings.<\/p>\n
Jeremy was charged under Article 363 of the Criminal Code on
\ntheft, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in jail.<\/p>\n
Jeremy was arrested on Dec. 7 last year following a police
\ninvestigation over the loss of valuables kept in lockers of
\ngymnasiums, fitness centers, and spa facilities in several five-
\nstar hotels in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
While in police detention, Jeremy managed to convince guards
\nto allow him to use the visitors' toilet, from which he managed
\nto make his escape last Friday at about 4 a.m.<\/p>\n
He was immediately declared a fugitive.<\/p>\n
Following his escape five police officers, including Adj.
\nFirst Insp. Manalu, the chief of the duty shift, were questioned
\nand subsequently detained for their dereliction in carrying out
\ntheir duty to guard the suspect.<\/p>\n
"We want to find out whether they helped the suspect to escape
\njustice or even whether they were bribed to allow the suspect to
\nget away," Firman said.<\/p>",
