        "content": "<p>Singapore, U.S. open skies<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (AFP): Singapore has initialed a landmark open skies<br>\nagreement with the United States, the Civil Aviation Authority of<br>\nSingapore announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The outcome followed two days of negotiations in Washington<br>\nbetween the two countries, the CAAS said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\"The agreement between Singapore and the U.S. marks a<br>\nmilestone in bilateral aviation relations. Singapore is pleased<br>\nto be the first in Asia to conclude such an agreement with the<br>\nU.S.,\" said Teo Ming Kian, the permanent secretary in the<br>\nministry of communications.<\/p>\n<p>Under an open skies agreement, airlines of both countries will<br>\nbe permitted to fly whatever routes they choose between Singapore<br>\nand any point in the United States without restrictions in<br>\nfrequencies.<\/p>",
