Singapore rubber quiet<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (Reuter): The Singapore rubber market was largely
\nquiet at the close yesterday although some consumers were said to
\nhave done some spot deals for SIR20 rubber from Indonesia,
\ndealers said.<\/p>\n
\"I heard there was some buying for SIR20 rubber from
\nIndonesia,\" a dealer said.<\/p>\n
But the rest of the market was quiet, with the Songkran
\nBuddhist New Year holiday in Thailand sidelining most of the Thai
\nsellers in the regional rubber market, dealers said.<\/p>\n
\"It was quiet. Most of the buyers were sidelined by Songkran,\"
\none trader said.<\/p>\n
One market analyst said dealers may be trying to talk down
\nprices by constantly harping on weak consumer buying. \"I think
\nthey're trying to talk the prices down,\" the analyst said.<\/p>\n
Market activity may suffer more when the Eid Al-Adha Moslem
\nholiday on Friday shuts down markets in Singapore, Malaysia and
\nIndonesia, dealers said.<\/p>\n
At around 0945 GMT, August RSS3 was seen at 115.00-116.00 U.S.
\ncents a kg from 116.50 cents. July RSS1 was seen at 165.75
\nSingapore cents (US$1.15) a kg from 167.75 cents. June TSR20 was
\nindicated at 156.00-158.00 Singapore cents (US$1.08-$1.09) a kg
\nfrom 157.00 cents.<\/p>",
