        "content": "<p>Singapore inks pact with WBG<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE: Singapore and seven other countries have signed a pact<br>\nwith the World Bank Group aimed at promoting trade and<br>\ninvestments with the WBG's developing member countries, a<br>\ngovernment agency said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Also signing the agreement in Washington were trade and<br>\ninvestment promotion agencies from Australia, New Zealand,<br>\nEstonia, Latvia, Slovenia, Hungary and Canada, said an IE<br>\nSingapore statement.<\/p>\n<p>Private sector liaison officers (PSLOs) appointed by each<br>\nagency \"will be responsible for coordinating activities in their<br>\nrespective countries with the various local business intermediary<br>\norganizations,\" it noted.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore has started to more actively engage international<br>\norganizations such as the Asian Development Bank, United Nations<br>\nand WBG to secure projects and business opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Within Asia, Singapore is the Asia hub for the WBG's PSLO<br>\nnetwork. There are currently six PSLOs in the region, including<br>\nAustralia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong and India. -- DPA<\/p>",
