        "content": "<p>Minister of Investment\/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, stated that\nSingapore has consistently been the largest foreign investor in\nIndonesia up to the first quarter of 2026. Singapore is the biggest\nsource of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Indonesia, with a value\nof around USD 4.6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndeed, if we look over the last 10 years, Singapore has\nconsistently been the largest FDI country in Indonesia in terms of\nrecording. Singapore is approximately (USD) 4.6 billion (for Q1 2026),\u201d\nsaid Rosan during a press conference at his office on Thursday\n(23\/4).<\/p>\n<p>This position is followed by Hong Kong at USD 2.7 billion and China\nat USD 2.2 billion. Combined, the contributions from Hong Kong and China\nbecome the largest at around USD 4.9 billion. Then, followed by the\nUnited States with a total of USD 1.3 billion and Japan at USD 1\nbillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumber five is followed by the United States and also number five is\nJapan. Next countries like South Korea, Malaysia, and the Netherlands,\u201d\nsaid Rosan.<\/p>\n<p>Investment in the Downstream Processing Sector Reaches Rp 147.5\nTrillion<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Rosan stated that the realisation of investment in\nthe downstream processing sector has made a significant contribution,\nreaching 29.6 percent of total investment in the first quarter of 2026\nor around Rp 147.5 trillion, growing 8.2 percent annually.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we look, it is still dominated by minerals, which from the total\nof Rp 147.5 trillion, Rp 98.3 trillion is from the mineral sector.\nNumber one is still nickel at Rp 41.5 trillion, then copper, iron and\nsteel, bauxite, tin, and others,\u201d continued Rosan.<\/p>\n<p>Besides minerals, the plantation and forestry sector also recorded a\ncontribution of Rp 29.8 trillion, with palm oil as the main contributor\nat Rp 18.3 trillion, followed by log wood at Rp 7 trillion and rubber at\nRp 24 trillion, as well as other commodities like nutmeg, pine, coconut,\ncocoa, and biofood.<\/p>\n<p>The oil and gas sector recorded investments of Rp 17.7 trillion.\nMeanwhile, the fisheries and maritime sector is still relatively small\nat around Rp 1.7 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I have received information that there will be investments in\nthe salt sector as well as in seaweed and tilapia fish; this is starting\nto proceed in the next semester,\u201d said Rosan.<\/p>",
