        "content": "<p>Soekarno-Hatta Airport authorities continue coordinating with\nairlines and other stakeholders to monitor flight conditions and\nanticipate disruptions, Yudistiawan, the airport\u2019s Assistant Deputy for\nCommunications and Legal Affairs, said.<\/p>\n<p>Kualanamu is currently closed because of volcanic activity,\npotentially causing flights to and from the airport to be delayed,\ncanceled or diverted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe eruption has affected flights to and from Kualanamu, including\nservices from Soekarno-Hatta. We continue coordinating to monitor flight\nconditions and passenger services,\u201d Yudistiawan said.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, September 1, there were 41 flights between Soekarno-Hatta\nand Kualanamu, comprising 20 arrivals and 21 departures, with an\nestimated 5,350 passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Of those flights, 15 services between Soekarno-Hatta and Kualanamu\nwere canceled because of force majeure caused by Sinabung\u2019s volcanic\nactivity.<\/p>\n<p>Another 14 flights were delayed, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Airport authorities, airlines and other stakeholders continue\nmonitoring Sinabung and its impact on flight operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCoordination and precautionary measures are continuing to ensure\nflight operations and passenger services run as smoothly as possible,\u201d\nYudistiawan said.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers traveling to or from Kualanamu should monitor the latest\nflight information and schedule changes provided by their respective\nairlines, the airport authority said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe urge passengers to regularly check flight information through\ntheir airlines.
