\nto boost the market's confidence. For example, services at
\nairports -- Indonesia's gateways -- could be improved, starting
\nwith the initiation of around-the-clock passport inspection
\nservices and opening taxi service windows so incoming passengers
\nare not bothered by scalpers and unlicensed taxi operators.<\/p>\n
To establish a limited liability company, a person should not
\nneed to see the minister in charge, which can take months to
\narrange, he should be able to have his business done swiftly at a
\npublic notary's office.<\/p>\n
A National Judiciary Commission should be established and
\nfurnished with a permanent secretariat to register public
\ncomplaints over court verdicts that are considered unfair. The
\neradication of corruption, too, is most important to boost
\nbusinesspeople's confidence in the government, but this cannot be
\nachieved so long as law enforcers show a reluctance in
\nimplementing the anticorruption laws.<\/p>\n
The public appears to be right in holding the perception that
\nthe government has so far failed in the areas of law and
\npolitics. This is the dominant factor that is holding up economic
\nrecovery, despite the relatively favorable macroeconomic
\nindicators.<\/p>\n
