        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs has suspended\neight officials who have been designated as suspects in a bribery case\ninvolving the processing of residence permits for foreign nationals.<\/p>\n<p>One of those suspended is the Deputy Minister of Immigration and\nCorrectional Affairs, Silmy Karim.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Immigration and Correctional Affairs, Agus Andrianto,\nstated that the suspension is being carried out as an internal\ndisciplinary sanction against the suspects. He added that the suspension\nis also intended to ensure that the legal process at the KPK can proceed\nquickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a step in enforcing internal discipline, the Ministry of\nImmigration and Correctional Affairs has suspended the officials in\nquestion from their positions,\u201d he said in a written statement on\nThursday (June 4).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis step is taken to ensure that the legal process can proceed\nwithout obstacles, while also maintaining the smooth functioning of\npublic services,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Agus assured that his ministry fully supports the\nongoing legal process at the KPK. In addition, the KPK also seized\nforeign currency, namely Singapore dollars and US dollars, as well as\ngold bullion from the operation.<\/p>",
