This was revealed by the KPK\u2019s Deputy for Prosecution\nand Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, during a press conference at the KPK\nRed and White Building in Jakarta on Thursday (4\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Asep explained that preliminary investigations and witness\ntestimonies indicate the illicit activities spanned his entire period in\nleadership, from his time as Director General of Immigration (2023-2024)\nto his role as Deputy Minister (2025-2026).<\/p>\n<p>KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that Silmy Karim allegedly\norchestrated an extortion scheme by \u2018requesting shares\u2019 from the\nprocessing of stay permits for foreign nationals through Jaya Saputra,\nthe Director of Stay Permits, who currently serves as the Head of the\nWest Java Immigration Regional Office. According to the investigation,\nsubordinates were instructed to collect \u2018extra fees\u2019 or illegal levies\nfrom sponsors and applicants for various services, including permit\nextensions, status changes, and domicile updates.<\/p>\n<p>The scale of the corruption is significant; the KPK revealed that\nbetween 2022 and 2026, various officials within the Directorate General\nof Immigration\/Ministry of Immigration received funds\u2014via cash,\ntransfers, or intermediaries\u2014amounting to at least Rp 145.5 billion.
