        "content": "<p>SilkAir gets insurance claim<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuters): Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIA) insurers<br>\nhave paid out a US$35.5 million claim for the SilkAir aircraft<br>\nthat crashed into the Musi river in South Sumatra last year,<br>\nSingapore's Business Times reported on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\"In fact, the money was paid by the insurers in January last<br>\nyear, within weeks of the crash, to its owner,\" the paper quoted<br>\nan SIA source as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The money however only covered US$35 million for the loss of<br>\nthe hull and the $500,000 insured loss arising from search and<br>\nrescue efforts for the SilkAir aircraft, the paper said.<\/p>\n<p>The risks of the crashed Boeing 737-300 plane and other<br>\naircraft in the SIA group are underwritten by more than 80 direct<br>\ninsurers and reinsurers in Asia, Europe and North America.<\/p>\n<p>SIA officials could not be reached immediately for comment.<\/p>",
