Silence TV better?<\/p>\n
I refer to the letter by Mr. Piero Ronci in your newspaper
\ndated Aug. 31, 1995.<\/p>\n
I have over the past six years of living in Jakarta, resisted
\nany temptations to write a letter to your readers column, even in
\nanswer to some of Mr. Ronci's ridiculous statements over British
\nsports. However, I have finally cracked. Mr. Ronci now wants all
\nEuropean Soccer commentary to be made in Indonesian, he then
\nobviously has not listened to the analysis before the games and
\nat half time, or if he did, he either cannot understand a word of
\nIndonesian or he must have the same total lack of knowledge on
\nthe sport in question as well.<\/p>\n
When and if the commentary can be made of a quality worthy of
\nthe sport, where names are pronounced correctly and historical
\ndata on games and players are correct, then I am sure we would
\nall welcome it, then it should also be of a volume compared to
\nthe game match audio, whereby one can enjoy the match atmosphere
\nalso. Or should we all just mute the TV, and suffer in silence.
\nIsn't the main draw to a sport the atmosphere experienced?<\/p>\n
Mr. Ronci, enough is enough, you have now managed to fire up
\neven the calmest of us (perhaps that is your sole objective). Why
\ndon't you spare the room in the readers column for much greater
\ninteresting subject matter? I am sure that most of the readers
\nwould agree with me, we've had enough from you.<\/p>\n
