        "content": "<p>Sikka language<\/p>\n<p>On Feb. 28, 1994, I received a letter from Hein Steinhauer in<br>\nresponse to my request published in \"Your Letters\" (The Jakarta<br>\nPost Feb. 23, 1994). He also enclosed several copies of his<br>\npapers and articles that he once sent to magazines or presented<br>\nat certain seminars. I am especially grateful to him for taking<br>\nthe trouble to send me those sources which enabled me to<br>\naccomplish my thesis writing and study at the Widya Mandira<br>\nUniversity's English Department in Kupang.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, I did not respond sooner to his letter as I<br>\nstill had difficulties determining the title of my thesis after<br>\nseveral long discussions with my teachers. I would like to<br>\napologize to him for such a delay. Through this column, I would<br>\nalso like to inform him that I graduated last year and my thesis<br>\ndealt with a contrastive study on passive constructions between<br>\nEnglish and Wolomapa dialect as one of the dialects constituting<br>\nthe Sikka language (a language spoken by most people in Sikka<br>\nRegency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara).<\/p>\n<p>Further study concerning other aspects of that language (not<br>\nonly in the form of a contrastive study) really needs his help so<br>\nI have been trying to meet him for several months. Unfortunately,<br>\nsomeone at his former address said he had recently returned to<br>\nthe Netherlands.
