Bekasi - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional\nDevelopment, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), has spotlighted suspicions\nof a disruption in the signalling system in the train collision tragedy\nat Bekasi Timur Station on Monday night (27\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
To delve deeper into these suspicions, AHY stated that he had held an\nemergency meeting with the National Transportation Safety Committee\n(KNKT) and officials from the Ministry of Transportation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI held an emergency meeting to discuss tactical steps that can be\ntaken quickly, which we hope will enable a swift investigation and\nreporting of the results,\u201d AHY said while providing a statement at\nChasbullah Abdulmadjid City General Hospital in Bekasi on Tuesday\n(28\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cSignalling, yes. I discussed that earlier as well. Once again, I\nwant to wait for the complete official report from the KNKT because this\ninvolves many stakeholders to ensure whether there was indeed a\ndisruption, an error, or something that should not have happened,\nincluding related to the signalling,\u201d AHY stated.<\/p>\n
He asked the public to be patient and wait for the investigation\nresults before drawing conclusions about the exact cause of the\nincident.<\/p>\n
The government, he said, will conduct a comprehensive examination of\nall technical and operational factors in the field.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019s not just that; there are many other aspects as well. We\nwill definitely investigate everything; nothing can be overlooked\nbecause all can influence one another,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, AHY has instructed the KNKT to conduct the investigation\nprofessionally, transparently, and openly to the public.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe KNKT has agreed to carry out a thorough investigation. I request\nthat it be transparent and open, explainable to the public. Because this\nalso needs to include an educational factor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Previously reported, the collision occurred between the\nCikarang-bound KRL number PLB 5568A and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train\non the Gambir\u2013Surabaya Pasar Turi route around 20:52 WIB on Monday\nnight. The incident site was on the platform at Bekasi Timur Station KM\n28+920.<\/p>\n
As a result of the incident, 15 KRL passengers died, and 84 others\nwere injured.<\/p>\n
