        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has\npartnered with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to\ndeliver solutions in construction materials that are high-quality,\nenvironmentally friendly, and support sustainable, innovative national\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive Indrieffouny Indra said that the demand for building\nmaterials and the responsibility to realise sustainable development are\ndriving the company to continually offer product and service solutions\ngrounded in research and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We are realising this initiative through collaboration with the\nNational Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in a research, invention,\nand innovation partnership in the field of cement and its derivatives,\u2019\nIndra said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation between SIG and BRIN is marked by the signing of a\nMemorandum of Understanding between SIG Chief Executive Indrieffouny\nIndra and BRIN Deputy for Utilisation of Research and Innovation R.\nHendrian, which was conducted within the series of events \u2018BRIN Goes To\nIndustry 4\u2019 in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>According to Indra, research is the key to delivering building\nmaterial products that are superior and sustainable to meet the\nchallenges and needs of the rapidly developing construction sector.\nTherefore the company collaborates with various relevant parties,\nincluding BRIN, to strengthen research and innovation in the cement\nsector and its derivatives.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of the agreement includes research activities to create\ninnovative cement and derivative products that are applicable, jointly\nutilising facilities and infrastructure in line with the research\nactivities. Thereafter, policy advocacy to implement sustainable\ndevelopment, to provide product and service solutions that support\nnational economic recovery and respond to climate change, and to enhance\nhuman resources competencies.<\/p>\n<p>Further, Indra said the collaboration is also a strategic step to\ndeliver a range of building material solutions that are high quality,\nrenowned, and eco-friendly. \u2018This move also aligns with SIG\u2019s\ntransformation strategy to optimise cement derivatives and the portfolio\ncurrently being focused on by the company,\u2019 Indra added.<\/p>\n<p>The synergy also represents a continuation of the MoU signed in July\n2023. In the previous period, SIG and BRIN conducted several research\nefforts, including the development of high-performance concrete using\nhydraulic cement; self-healing concrete to prevent and repair cracks in\nconcrete; chemical additives for cement and concrete; and the\ndevelopment of green concrete for coastal and maritime\ninfrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018SIG remains committed to contributing to Indonesia\u2019s development\nthrough sustainable solutions and innovations that add value for all\nstakeholders,\u2019 Indra said.<\/p>\n<p>BRIN Deputy Chief Amarulla Octavian said that \u2018BRIN Goes To Industry\u2019\nserves as a hub for communication among stakeholders, including\nindustry, institutions, regulators, and the public, to exchange\ninformation about research and innovation products. \u2018In this way, it is\nhoped that the quality of research and innovation can be enhanced and\nhave a positive impact,\u2019 Amarulla said.<\/p>\n<p>Through the programme, BRIN supports the implementation of the RPJMN\n2025\u20132029 policy direction by strengthening research and innovation that\nis oriented toward harmony between humans, the environment, nature,\nculture, and inclusive and tolerant social life.<\/p>",
