The Sidoarjo Regency government continues to accelerate\ninfrastructure repair work in several areas. This step is taken to\nensure that community transportation access runs smoothly and safely\nbefore the Eid al-Fitr holiday period this year.<\/p>\n
One of the main focuses of the repair is on two strategic road\nsections in Sukodono district, namely the Kebonagung-Sukodono road and\nthe Sukodono-Ponokawan road. The Regent of Sidoarjo, Subandi, directly\nreviewed the progress of the work in the field to ensure that the\nquality of the project meets standards.<\/p>\n
Prioritise Material Quality<\/p>\n
In his review, Subandi instructed the Public Works, Bina Marga and\nWater Resources Office (PUBMSDA) of Sidoarjo to not compromise on\nmaterial quality. He emphasised the transition in the use of overlay\ntechniques from coolmix asphalt to hotmix asphalt for greater\ndurability.<\/p>\n
\u201cI ask the contractor to ensure that the materials used are of good\nquality. If using coolmix asphalt is not sufficient, we must use hotmix\nasphalt, with a minimum thickness of three to four centimetres,\u201d said\nSubandi at the location on Tuesday (24\/2).<\/p>\n
Target Completion<\/p>\n
The maintenance project covers the Kebonagung-Sukodono section, which\nis four kilometres long, and the Sukodono-Ponokawan section, which is\nfive kilometres long. The Sidoarjo Regency government is committed to\nintensive monitoring at points prone to potholes to prevent endangering\ndrivers.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are continuously monitoring this together with Assistant II, the\nHead of the Public Works Office, the Sub-district Head, and the Village\nHead. Hopefully, the road repairs that we are carrying out today will be\ncompleted during Ramadan. So that during Eid, all roads will be in good\ncondition,\u201d continued Subandi.<\/p>\n
Long-Term Concrete Plan<\/p>\n
Given the high volume of heavy vehicles such as trucks and containers\non the Kebonagung-Sukodono section, the Sidoarjo Regency government has\nprepared a concrete scheme as a permanent solution in the future.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, we have nine concrete points. For this section\n(Kebonagung-Sukodono), God willing, in 2027 we will carry out concrete\nconstruction because the traffic of heavy vehicles is indeed high,\u201d\nSubandi concluded. (HS\/P-2)<\/p>\n

Of the several road sections to be repaired this year, it is planned\nthat the West Java Provincial Government will intervene.<\/p>\n

The repairs are focused on the section in Simaninggir Village,\nSitahuis District, which experienced severe damage due to a natural\ndisaster on 25 November 2025.<\/p>\n
